Open Excel
Left-click File
Left-click Open
Choose drive/folder of text
file
Choose File of Type: Text
Double Left-click the
text file name to start up the Text Import Wizard. |

Delimited – Characters such as commas or
tabs separate each field.
Start import at row: has 1 by default; change to 2 if you have already
made field header names in Excel spreadsheet.
File Origin: Windows (ANSI)
Left-click Next button. |

Delimiters will have Tab chosen by default. If
you had saved the text file as ‘Text database using comma as
a separator’ left-click the Comma radio button to change the
delimiter.
Test Qualifier: in this
case is double quote
Left-click Next button. |

The first column will be highlighted in Data preview
area.
Column data format: either leave as General (default) or change to Text,
Date, or Do not import column.
Left-click each column in Data preview area and either leave as General
(default) or change to Text, Date, or Do not import column in Column data
format.
Left-click Finish button. |

After the text has been imported to the Excel
spreadsheet you will want to save it in Excel.
Left-click File
Left-click Save As…
Make sure the File name: is what you want the file to be named (will automatically
show the text file name you have imported). |

Make sure Save as type: has the format you want
(Microsoft Excel Workbook)
Left-click Save button. |
