Spam is unwanted e-mail. It is usually
an unsolicited commercial e-mail sent to a large number of addresses.
A Spam blocker helps to eliminate some of this unwanted email. It is
not a guarantee that all unwanted e-mail will be eliminated, but it helps
to keep your inbox clean.
Spam software can either allow the incoming email to be delivered or
it can quarantine the email or block it entirely.
When a spam e-mail message is delivered to your Carlow Lotus e-mail
account, it will be quarantined.
You will receive a Spam Quarantine Summary e-mail message with information
about the quarantined mail.
You will also receive an e-mail from the IT department with your User
Quarantine Account Information, which includes your username and password
to access your Spam Quarantine Summary. Please make sure to keep this
information.
It is very important for you to review the Spam Quarantine
Summary at least once a week and take one of the following actions:
Deliver, Whitelist or Delete.
If you do not choose to Deliver, Whitelist or Delete the message, the
messages will remain in your quarantine box.
Click
on the Deliver link to have the message delivered
to your mailbox.
Click
on the Whitelist link to have the message
delivered to your mailbox and whitelist the sender so that
his/her messages will no longer be quarantined for all future
e-mails received from that address.
Click
on the Delete link to have the message deleted
from your quarantine.
