MS Word – Add a Text Entry Prompt
  1. Place cursor at the position in the document where the text prompt field is to be inserted.

2. Left-click Insert

3. Left-click Field

4. Categories: will have (All) for default

5. Field names: Scroll down until you see Fill-in

6. Left-click to highlight Fill-in

7. Left-click OK button.

8. Enter the prompt that you want to appear at this location in the document e.g. [Click Here and Type in File Name].

9. Left-click OK button to finish .

 
 
   
MS Word – Inserting AutoText
  To insert a filename, filename and path, etc.

1. Create a new or open a document

2. Place cursor at insertion point for AutoText in the document

3. Click Insert on menu bar

4. Click AutoText from drop-down menu

5. Click AutoText from fly-out menu

6. Click AutoText tab

7. In Enter AutoText entries here: you can type in or use scroll bar to choose entry
Example shows Filename chosen for entry

8. Click Insert button

 
If you later decide you do not want the AutoText entry in the document, just follow Steps 1 through 7, then for Step 8 just click the Delete button.
