1. Open Dreamweaver MX by left-clicking icon in Programs menu
OR double-click Dreamweaver icon on desktop.

2. Left-click Site in the menu bar
3. Left-click New Site

Site definition for Unnamed Site 1 appears

LOCAL Info
4. Click Advanced tab and click Local Info under Category - so you can enter local site information.
5. Site Name: enter your login name (carlow ID number, e.g. 111111)
6. Local Root Folder: enter local drive location (e.g. c:\111111\
7. Default Images Folder: enter local drive location (e.g. c:\111111\images\

REMOTE Info
8. Left-click Remote Info under Category - so you can enter remote web site information.
9. Access: choose FTP
10. FTP Host: www.carlow.edu
11. Host Directory: /export/home/students/111111/public_html/
(where 111111 in above path is replaced by your Carlow ID number)
12. Login: type in your Carlow ID number, e.g. 111111
13. Password: type in the FTP password you received

14. Left-click Test button to make sure you can connect to remote server.
(you will see the following dialog box if you are successful)

15. Left-click OK button to exit connection dialog box.

16. Left-click OK button in Site Definition screen to save Site Definition.
