The teacher will choose whether to allow each student
to view the report that is created when a paper is submitted. This option
is set with each assignment. If that option is selected then the student
will receive an email from My Drop Box when the report is available.
In the email will be a link. Click on the link to be taken to a website
with the report. The link will only take the student to the report for
that one paper.
My Drop Box does not differentiate between text enclosed
in quotes or text indented to indicate a quote. It seeks only to match
text to another source. If a student has used quotes and indentations
along with citations to the original material, the material will still
be flagged in the report. It is up to each teacher/student to make a
distinction between material that has been properly cited and material
that has not.
A sample report is provided below.
The section labeled as A indicates the level of authenticity.
Section B provides links to websites containing matched text. Within
the paper itself each occurrence of matched text is highlighted. Click
on the highlighted text to open a window comparing the student’s text
with an original source. Section C is an example of this. |
