Note: You will only have to do these steps once. 

1). Go to http://www.microsoft.com and download Internet Explorer 7. When prompted, click to Run the program. Use all of the recommended options. Restart your computer when prompted.
OR
Install Internet Explorer 7 when prompted through Windows (yellow shield in bottom right corner of taskbar).

2). Open up an Internet Explorer window. The icon will look like this:

3). The first time you go to the internet it will give you a list of options. The first is Required Settings. Click on the circle that says“ Let me select from a list of other search providers.”

4). Under Optional Settings, for the first choice, check to Turn on automatic Phishing Filter (recommended).

5). The next setting is to See webpages more clearly. Make sure the Always use ClearType to view web pages (recommended) is checked.

6). Regarding Help customize webpages to your location, click the circle next to Use the current settings: English (United States).

7). The next setting is Help improve Internet Explorer: Join the Customer Experience Improvement Program. DO NOT check the box next to Participate in the Customer Experience Improvement Program! Click Save Settings.

8). The next page will have a list of search providers. Click on Google.

9). When the Add Search Provider window opens, make sure next to name it says "Google". Click Add Provider.

10). Look in the top right corner of your browser window for the search bar.  If it does not say Google in the search bar, continue on through the rest of the steps.  NOTE: If it does say Google, you may browse the internet or read about what's new in IE7 or read about some other settings new to IE7.

11). Click on the Search Options arrow next to the maginifying glass icon by the search bar.  Choose Change Search Defaults...

12). In the Change Search Defaults window that opens:               a). Click on Google               b). Click on Set Default               c). Click OK

13). The search bar should now read Google.

14). You may browse the internet or read about what's new in IE7 or read about some other settings new to IE7.
