What should I do if I am receiving large amounts of spam/unwanted email?

Do not unsubscribe or take yourself off of the list. This will only let the spammers know that your address is definitely an active address and they will continue to spam more. You could also block those email addresses through personal filtering. The university is also actively working on filtering some of the more offensive email/spam at the email gateway. Learn how to block senders in Lotus here.

Carlow uses an appliance called Barracuda to help block spam.  Click here to learn more about Barracuda.  Click here to learn how to manage the spam that Barracuda blocks on your email account.

- Software Recommendations:
We recommend Windows XP and Microsoft Office XP or 2003 (Word, Excel, Access, etc) since that is the software we use in our public labs. Faculty use Office software as well. This will make it easier to work on papers both in the residence hall rooms and the public labs.
