Our Mission and Direction

The Information Technology Department was created to initiate
Carlow's universal commitment to information technology
and to ensure a technological future for the institution. As a
department, the IT staff is dedicated to offering high quality
computing services and support. We strive to facilitate the use of
technology in the learning process, in instruction and research,
and in processing and accessing institutional information. We
continually endeavor to implement new technologies and improve
the quality of the services that we offer. Our goal is to support our
customer's needs (faculty, staff, and students) within a reasonable
time and in a respectful manner. We listen to and value each
member of the Carlow community and intend to work together to
contribute to an atmosphere of professional growth, job satisfaction,
leadership, and an overall positive educational experience.


		The Information Technology Department is committed to the initiatives set forth in the ITAC (Information Technology Advisory Committee) Strategic Plan, and will fulfill the plan's goals within the framework of the ever-changing discipline of information technology.
		The Information Technology Department will establish processes to evaluate and implement new technologies.
		The Information Technology Department will provide opportunities to achieve a minimum level of competency in technology among Carlow's faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
		The Information Technology Department will prioritize and commit to providing a high-level internal support structure.
		The Information Technology Department will assist its clients in setting realistic expectations for technology, and will support those individuals in the management of those expectations.
		The Information Technology Department will set examples of cooperation and collaboration via the sharing of institution information and resources.
		The Information Technology department will support the institution initiatives for cost containment.
		The Information Technology department will share its expertise to facilitate the process of creating self-directed, lifelong learners.
