The Carlow Campus School is also working with the Information Technology department to upgrade its use of technology. Most notably, in late-August, a new Carlow Campus School website will be unveiled. It has been designed to directly compete with neighboring private K-8 institutions and will include a variety of new information. The website will continue to be updated throughout the academic year.

In addition, the Campus School faculty are being trained on both Blackboard and Lotus Notes. The faculty will begin using Blackboard for their classes to disseminate information

to parents about homework assignments, events, teacher contact information and other important information.

While all of these web-based initiatives are proceeding, the Campus School took advantage of our volume-buy with Gateway and purchased 19 new computers for the Campus School. They will help to replace older PC’s at the school and begin to get the Campus School on a replacement plan.

Lastly, our telecomm area will be finishing a project during August to provide a speaker system for the Montessori school and ‘hot-line’ buttons on the classroom phones. This will provide additional communication and security.

Future projects with the Campus School include providing the Campus School students and staff with ID Cards and the ability to use meal plans via the ID Card system, and helping the administrative staff implement a new student database system.
