When the online courses area formally became part of the Information Technology department in May, it was also renamed to better reflect its purpose. It is now called Instructional Technology and is staffed by both Nola Coulson and Kimberly Hillyard. You may know Kimberly because she filled in while Nola was on maternity leave. Now, she’s supplementing the work in this area by also working part-time like Nola. Together, they have formed the Instructional Technology team, and they will be supporting faculty and staff in their use of technology for teaching and learning. Joining them periodically will be Denise King, a faculty member, who taught our summer institute on technology. |
Not only will they support Blackboard, but they will be offering an entire series of training courses that will include targeted classes about the Microsoft Office suite and the new plagiarism detection software. These courses will be offered to both faculty and staff.
The Instructional Technology team has an entire website dedicated to helping you contact them and learn how to use technology. You will find their email address, their hours of support, the complete course offering for Fall, and technology spotlights on faculty who have successfully used technology in their classes. Please check out their website at http://it.carlow.edu/ |
