The portal includes tabs specific to students, faculty/staff, the Campus School, and alumae. To login, you will need to use your active directory login (the same login that you use to login to the campus labs or your computer in your office) and your personal active directory password.

Each area of the portal is being maintained by various campus offices who received training this summer so that the information is kept current. Students who wish to post activities & events to this portal should contact the student life office.

So, over the summer, the Information Technology Department carefully evaluated the various products available for their ease of use, useful reports, and accuracy in catching plagiarized works. Diane Sims also helped us evaluate the software also using these criteria and we carefully compared notes with other campuses around the Pittsburgh area. In addition, we analyzed feedback received from Carlow faculty during the Spring semester.

After this evaluation, Turn-it-in was chosen as Carlow’s new anti-plagiarism software. We believe the product is easy to learn and use and has easy to read color-coded reports for faculty members. Further, it seems to return the results faster than other products, usually within 24 hours.

We will be hosting several Computer Café sessions on the new software and the Instructional Technology staff will work closely with faculty to help them set-up their courses and use the software successfully.
