Lunch Bytes

lunch bagThe instructional technology team is launching a “Lunch Byte” series as part of the Computer Café offerings. The lunch bytes will consist of 1 hour sessions each month from 12 – 1 pm and will explore emerging technologies and other hot topics. Rather than a hands-on technical session, participants will discuss the pedagogical implications and share strategies associated with teaching with technology. A light snack will be provided so you can have a “bite of food with a byte of educational technology.” Mark your calendars…you don’t want miss out on an opportunity to collaborate with your colleagues.

Camtasia is Here!

No, it’s not Mickey Mouse waving his magic wand in his mystical show. It’s Camtasia, a software program that will help you create instructional materials to engage your audience. However, the magic can be experienced as you easily create and share high-quality videos and audio content with a few clicks of your computer mouse. With this software, you can record the actions on your computer to instruct others how to perform a process, narrate a PowerPoint slide show and save as a video to easily share with others, record audio content for iPODs, MP3 players, or your computer's media player, and more! Camtasia Studio, which includes the SnagIt capturing tool, will be available in the Computer Café and as well as the recently upgraded lab AJP202. If you would like to learn how to use Camtasia, please review the Fall Computer Café Menu and sign up for a session. Looking forward to seeing you at the show!
