What's New

As Carlow shifted from being a college to a university, the Carlow website received a much needed facelift! On August 31st, as part of the University celebration, the new Carlow website was unveiled! This new look completed phase one of a six phase web renovation project. It included changing the overall look and converting all references of the word `College' to `University'. We are now proceeding on the next two phases which are renovating the Admissions area to make it a more effective marketing tool, and renovating the Academic Programs area. Future phases include updating the alumnae area, the support services web pages, and changing all other pages such as athletics and other student related information. These phases will overlap as most general changes will affect every department and the overall project is expected to last throughout the year.

One of the most exciting and useful projects of the summer is the new Carlow Card! Your ID card is now part of a One Card ID system which enables you to make meal plan and Carlow Cash purchases at Franny's, Tiernan, and the Bookstore. And, one of the more exciting new features is the Online Card Office. This enables students and staff to look up their Carlow Cash transaction history, add additional Carlow Cash to their cards by using a credit card, and report lost or stolen ID cards so that the card is immediately deactivated.

The university has also purchased 20 new security card readers and these have been installed in AJP, Frances Warde Hall, and Dougherty Hall to provide better security monitoring and tighter access schedules. Additional installations are slated for Tiernan and Curran Hall.

Future phases of this project include installation of copy readers in FWH and Grace Library, and the Uniprint printing system in our labs. Plans for other features will be announced shortly. If you don't have a Carlow Card, visit the student affairs office in Frances Warde Hall. For more information, visit http://www.id.carlow.edu
