Federal Appropriation: Sister Grace Ann recently announced that Carlow University has been awarded $100,000 as a direct line item appropriation in the 2005 Federal Budget. This is due in part to the diligence of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senators, Arlen Specter and Rick Santorum as well as U.S. Representatives Mike Doyle and Melissa Hart. Lynda Barner-West and Pat Joyce were also very instrumental in this process. This money will be spent to help replace some of Carlow’s older computer equipment both in our labs and in user offices. We hope to be announcing the replacement schedule for this money later this spring.
Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE): The Information Technology Department is working with the Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE) to help renovate the PCHE website. This project is expected to take about six months and will result in a totally redesigned, and more-user friendly & informational website for PCHE. The current PCHE website can be viewed here. Look for future announcements about the unveiling of the new website!
