As announced in early November, Microsoft is providing an upgrade to Internet Explorer to add new usability features, security features, and a new look.
Carlow has thoroughly tested this upgrade with all of our major software products, including Lotus, Blackboard, Webstudent, and 29 other web-based services at the University. In our testing, we determined that the browser works properly if certain configuration settings are made. We have created a quicksheet to show you how to initially set-up and configure IE7. These configuration changes are essential for IE7 to work properly. In many cases, campus computers have already been upgraded because Microsoft has ‘pushed’ this upgrade as a software update for your computer. If you have not been updated yet, you can either choose to upgrade from Microsoft’s site, or you can wait for the software update from Microsoft to occur. Once you have installed the update, you will first need to answer 4 basic questions and then you need to make the few simple changes to the configuration. All of these steps are outlined in our quicksheets mentioned above.
