Saving Sent Mail
   
 

To keep the Carlow email network running as efficiently as possible, please to not save messages that you do not need.

When sending mail messages, you can save the message to your Sent Folder or to a folder that you have created or you can choose not save a copy of the message or be prompted to make the decision when you send the message.
See the Lotus Quick Tip “Creating and Naming Folders” – week 12 for more information on creating Mail Folders.

 

1). Click on Preferences

2). Under "Save Sent Mail," you can choose the way you want to manage your sent mail.
-You can choose to save or not save a copy of every mail message that you send, or you can be prompted to make that decision when you send the message.

Copies of sent messages appear in your Sent folder.

Under “Save Sent Mail
Choose one of the following options:

-Always keep a copy
-Don’t keep a copy
-Always prompt

**Always prompt is the recommended choice**

Sending a Mail Message and Choosing Whether to Save the Message to your Sent Folder

1). Compose a new mail message

2). Click the Send button

3). If you chose “Always Prompt” under Mail Preferences you will see the Dialog box to the right. ->

Select one of the following choices under “Do you wish to save this message?”

-Yes – (the message will be saved to your Sent folder)
-No – (the message will not be saved)
-Cancel – (you will be returned to your mail message)

To View the Messages in your Sent Folder

1). Click on the Mail Tab

2). Click on the Sent folder

The messages in your Sent folder will now be displayed on the screen
